2014-15 Student Feedback

24/9/2015

In an annual tradition, last year's A Level Sociology students were anonymously surveyed to ask them what advice they would give to future students of Sociology at the college. Here's what they said:

  • It's a really good subject, but you have to revise after every lesson or you won't be prepared for the exam.
  • Remember the names of Sociologists and their studies!
  • Attend every lesson so you don't miss out on anything.
  • It's fairly challenging, so keep up with revision - but it is also very fulfilling.
  • It's a good subject and good teachers.
  • Keep an organised folder for each topic.
  • Complete all the homework!
  • Practice questions all year round so that you get into the habit of knowing how to answer.
  • Revise from the start of the year and go over all your notes after every lesson.
  • Do it: It's great!

Students were also asked about how they felt overall about the course. 86% of the feedback was positive, which is fantastic to hear. Among the suggestions for how the course could be improved, two key points kept cropping up: Students want more homework and also to go on some kind of trip. We will certainly work on these things!
